Commercial Projects - Mora Painting

When Atlas Engineering of Fort Myers contacted Mora Painters, they had a list of detailed project requirements. The company’s vision included a modern open ceiling with exposed beams, concrete, air ducts and electrical wire. Since the majority of these elements are usually hidden behind ceiling tiles, it was up to Mora Painters to provide a creative solution.

Project Specifications
In order to meet the unique requirements of this project, Mora Painters sprayed the ceiling with a flat black Sherwin-Williams Dryfall Paint. The firm knew, as a fast growing company, that they wanted to complete the project without the concern of having to continually maintain the look of the walls over time. The solution to this was to apply a Sherwin-Williams Pre-Catalyzed Water-Based One Part Epoxy, which ensures easy touch-up and cleaning. When it was time to address the doors and trim, durability was of primary importance. Mora Painters applied an oil-based Sherwin-Williams Paint to complete the requirement of long-lasting, maintenance-free paint job.

Since the Atlas Engineering office was a new build-out, Mora Painters had to coordinate with other contractors who were working on site and adjust project timelines based on construction schedules. As an example, several new walls were installed during the course of the project. This meant that Mora Painters had prime all surfaces on a well-thought-out schedule so that they would be ready for finishing top coats.

Materials List

Ceiling
Waterborne Acrylic Dryfall: A water-based, high light reflective white coating that falls dry in ten feet. Recommended for use on over-prepared interior ceilings, walls and structural steel in environments such as warehouses, industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings.

Walls
Pro Industrial Pre-Catalyzed Water Based Epoxy: Pro Industrial Pre-Catalyzed Water Based Epoxies are revolutionary, single-component pre-catalyzed water-borne acrylic epoxies that offer the adhesion, durability, as well as resistance to stains and most cleaning solvents. These products are low in VOC, have a mild odor, and can be applied over a variety of primers on properly prepared interior metal, wood, masonry, plaster and drywall.

Trim and Doors
All Surface Enamel Oil Base: All Surface Enamel is designed for use on interior and exterior wood, metal, drywall, and other surfaces. This high quality coating provides excellent resistance to weather and sunlight, maintaining its gloss and color. The exceptional durability allows it to be used on doors, trim, windows, and other hardware areas.
