Residential Projects - Mora Painting

The house is located on a direct Gulf access canal, about 5 minutes to the river, in the Savona neighborhood in Cape Coral, FL. The owner hired an interior design firm, and then asked Mora Painters to work directly with the interior design firm since the homeowners would be absent during the repaint project.

The designer requested that Mora Painters use premium Benjamin Moore products for the interior. Since Mora Painters is certified to apply multiple premium paint brands, this request was easily accommodated. In addition to vaulted ceilings and trey ceilings, the interior design of the residence included accent walls that required a variety of colors.

A beautiful exterior color scheme was presented by the designer, with multiple shades on the actual house and two different colors for the floors and dock. Mora Painters was able to offer the client a seven-year exterior warranty and completed the project with Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint.

Project Specifications
This project required Mora Painters to develop a close working relationship with the interior designer in order to achieve the desired look and feel – one that would attract families who might take an interest in renting the property while on vacation in Southwest Florida.  Mora Painters used multiple sheens on the inside. The same color was used on the ceiling and walls; however, the ceiling required a flat sheen while the walls called for an eggshell sheen.

Since Mora Painters thoroughly assesses every project before painting begins and is very detail-oriented, we noticed that the trim and doors had been previously painted with oil-based paint. In order to address this issue, several solutions were provided to the homeowner. They choose to repaint the trim and doors with oil, which was the easiest solution.

On the exterior, there were architectural details that required expert attention. The designer wanted to accent these features. Four different colors were used on the house itself, and two different colors were used for the floors and dock. Since the designer also wanted to hide the bulky storm shutters on the house as well, Mora Painters took the correct steps in preparing the metal shutter surfaces to achieve the designer’s goals.

The product achieves quick initial water resistance and curing, then continues to cure for 7-10 days following application for a tougher finish and more marking resistance than conventional water-based coatings or most solvent-based sealers.

Dock
